Post Radio ham life in Doha,Qatar

45 years ago, I was interested in radio operation when I saw one picture about amateur radio. However, it was difficult to get the license at the time, because I was around 10 years old.

Time passed quickly after I found other easier hobby and forgot to become ham. It was 6 years ago, when I noticed that I need something new to initiate and ham has been my favorite one to be.

There are many opportunities to become ham in Japan. Beginner class is opened to any one who has interest in radio operation. Japanese lisence is classified as follows.
Class 4 ; Novice class, only allowed for phone and up to 10 watt for output
Class 3 ; Technician class, allowed also for CW and up to 50 watt for out put
Class 2 ; General class, out put up to 200 watt
class 1 ; Extra class, out put non limited

I got Class 2 within one year after decision to become ham. It was not so easy to pass the examination, because I have no electric background to understand detailed system of radio transmission and reception. But there are useful text books to get high score and seminar to pass it. Further Japanese system regarding amateur radio operation later will be introduced later in this forum soon. If further information now required, please refer to http://www.jarl.or.jp/English/0-2.htm

So I am now one of millions who enjoy radio life in the world. In addition, I am very happy to get opportunity to operate radio here as A71/JA1FLQ. I appreciate all members of QARS, especially to A71AN and A71BR.
