No problem dear Rashid
Actually I ordered it from DX Engineering; however it is out of stock right now so they told me that it will take 2-3 week to be shipped to Qatar.
Also they said that my credit card will not be charged until the item is shipped

Good evening, I have also just finished making the order for Signalink USB with all of the cabelling for my TS-200, it did say in the order that my card will not be charged unless the piece is avilabe, I have emaild them and informed them that I can wait for it.

This is because Signalink is a small unit and can be very hany for my portable use.

All of the best and 73

Good day!
Yes, the same story here: I placed an order despite the long lead time. I made a deep market investigation before this one was chosen and hope that it is a best fit for my needs. I do not say "the best" cause assume that three-hundred- dollars models from Tigertonics provides more features, I just not sure that I need them :)
Since I never made a single digi-mode QSO in my 27 years on the air I decided that I can wait for another month or two and get what I need:)

Thank you for talking about this SignaLink unit. I have been browsing to the unit during free time at work and home. I think some times our goal in gear is to have all the gear draining more power than the amp alone. I have an old pk-232 stored away but figure why dig it out when a newer device would perform much better. It will probably end up hardly used like the pk-232 but thinking about it I might be using it for cw copy since I'm a little rusty being off the air for around 7 years. I'm sure we will be seeing some postings of how well the SignaLink device works when it arrives so thank you in advance for the postings :D

My friend, this is where the site bring things together, I have the pk-232 since more than 10 years, never used it before, the problem I have lost its software and I did search the whole net for it , I failed to get it, it will be nice to give it a try after all.

I also made an order for Signalink USB as I have seen one with A71BR, it is so small and handy, the sort of digital aid which could be taken any where to operate and I like operating portable most of the time.

Yestrday I went out on the san douns very high up and operated mobile, some very new countries this time, hopping to get the DXCC on 20 meter mobile.

Thank you again my friend and wishing you all of the best

On the PK-232 www.timewave.com is the new manufacturers website now. A while back I had looked into having them work on my device. I'm not sure if it is just the softares I would use or the hardware over heating that would cause hangs. Most the software that operates these devices were DOS and windows isn't working too well with DOS now of days. The PK-232 was always labor intensive in the software menu's to set up and the device was the main handler of data. Now of days a sound card can handle most digital modes and the newer windows programs decode everything. I like that. Timewave has update mods now. They even have a USB mod, sound card, dual transformer, dsp, and others. Brings the price over buying thee unit again for me.

I'm getting very distinct memories of laboring to get things straight with the unit so that I could make a digital contact.
I'm thinking the best route is sound card digital and using one of the Ham Radio Deluxe software included with it free. Ham Radio Deluxe is all free. Digital Master 870 and PSK31 Deluxe are the 2 programs I see available from Ham Radio Deluxe. It appears to be a fantastic program and it would keep me from messing up configurations which I like. Currently I even concider laboring to recharge my cell phone another unwanted task :D

The 2 programs I would use for the PK-232 were Winlink (Windows based) and PackRatt (DOS based). I can see Winlink still available at http://www.winlink.org/ I recall local digital friends kind of drawing me into a trap of having my gear tied up in digital when I am happy DXing.

I think I'm going the sound card route of easy start and configuration then easy exit for quick contacts. I have to go to work now with that cell phone that needs charging driving down the road. At least it wont beep charging while I listen on 20m. :)

Best of DX to you Rashed and everyone else.

I ordered a Signal Link USB on October 15th and was told it would be a 6 to 8 week wait on shipping. Everyone seems to give the unit high ratings.

They told my back order is 2 to 3 weeks, many ordering it because it suposed to be simple, handy and cheap comparing it with the others brands, practical wise is still waiting conformation by the users here, A71CV did not yet confirm its practicalities, A71BR is having the older version which is no a USB model.

My problem I have asked them to do the shippment all at one time, thats include my 3 Baluns which I need badly to install my Cushcraft 3 antennas.

I hope you get yours and you have a great fun with it

thats what I thought , 300$ for signalink?! , we( me and A71BR) bought the signalink sl 1+ together, by look of its inside it is pretty neat stuff done well. and making inerface for it for my TS2000 was easy too. I haven't done much of digi stuff with it over here but a test run on rtty got me spanish station on my first try. USB mode was't available back then. but would be pretty cool. thinking to order one for VU qth use.
