View Full Version : What software do you use for digimodes?
I used to use DigiPan quite a lot, but lately I have started using DM780.
DM780 is really nice in that it supports RTTY, PSK31/PSK63, Olivia and I believe a few others. It also has all of the macros well laid out and easy to use. But the best feature it has is the video ID where you can make your callsign appear in someone else's waterfall display.
So what software are you using and why do you like it?
Hi Ryan, how have you been ?
I just got my RigBlaster set up yesterday and so far I am using Digipan for PSK31. I plan on also using RTTY but I can not decide which software to go with so if someone can suggest something that is easy to configure and use I am all ears.

My friend I been for more than a year trying to figure out what sort of tools to use for my ditial acitivites, it looks now I will go for signalink USB one and then will try to learn how to use it.
Thank you and 73
Ham Radio Deluxe with DM780 is what I use and recommend for Digital Modes, Rig Control, Logging, Satellite and DX Cluster.
It is mature, stable, always improving and even better, available for FREE !!!
I use the SignaLink SL-1+ and SL-1USB for easy, plug-and-play perfection.
Ham Radio Deluxe Logging as well as most logging software, is integrated with eQSL so you can automatically dispatch your eQSL upon log entry.
For a FREE eQSL account, just go to:

Hi Ryan, how have you been ?
Been busy, Dave. Elections are coming up fast and furious.

Try DM780 with Ham Radio Deluxe. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I like it because it also integrates with HRD.

Hello everyone. I have Digipan. But, I downloaded the HRD program (free) which has the DM780 and PSK31 Deluxe version 4.0. I use PSK31 Deluxe and find it very user friendly. I don't have any REAL interface except microphones. I use the one off the computer to hear the rig and use the microphone off the rig to listen to the computer speakers. Works fairly well and no money tied up in this type of Interface.
If I decide I like PSK31 well enough I may, if I can afford it try and get another type of interface to operate with. You all have a nice day. :)

I'm using MixW
it's free software, it's support CW, FSK, RTTY, SSTV and others
Now I'm registered with WinTest and I will give it try someday to see how
it will work (I used the WinTest for SSB and CW contests and it did a fine job)
I'm still using MixW for normal QSO's and I will try to see if it works with MicroHam II Keyer after the coming CQWW contest

Hi guys,
Thank you all for writing about this subject :).
I have been active with most of the digital modes such as RTTY, PSK31, Hell Schreiber, SSTV and tried many software and TNCs such as ( home made, Rig blaster, Buxcomm) and now I am using (micro KEYER) + MMTTY for RTTY and MixW for PSK31 and Hell Schreiber and sometimes RTTY.
MixW is great software you can use it as a logging software and in the same time if you're a member of eqsl.cc this software will help you allot because you can upload your QSOs by using upload QSOs to eqsl.cc option from the software itself only so you don't have to log in to eqsl.cc web page every time.
Good luck to all and see you on the bands :)

I recently downloaded the Ham Radio Deluxe. I have not operated it with the radio but fumbling around with the program and help menus I noticed you can watch multiple streams of data conversions to text in a couple of the modes just by clicking which streams on the band to monitor. It even looks like there are options to log contacts with just a click where the program automaticly reads the exchanges and inserts the others contact information. I think it even said there is an option to save the entire text of the conversation/contact, Wow. I prefer voice SSB but the digital modes of the program sure are way beyond what I had seen last time around on ham radio using my pk-232. I'll have to try digital modes some time later when I've finished getting my station operational.

Hello friends,
I use DXLAB, aswell as N1MM on my PC .
I use N1MM in combi with MMTTY in contests and DXLAB for normal use.
DXLAB is, to my opinion, a super tool for keeping track of all kind of award including DXCC.
It also has pathfinder, commander for CAT, spotcollector, and Winwarbler for RTTY/PSK/CW,etc.
I find Winwarbler very convenient and I use it with a digibox which is made by PE1RMI ( www.pe2rmi.nl/ ).
Standard this is a AFSK unit but It has been modified by a friend for FSK since a couple months.'

I've been smitten with dm780 recently. I used to use Digipan for psk31 and MixW for everything else, but for general use DM780 I think is still the best.
For contesting though MixW has it beat, I like using it for Rtty tests as you can change frequencys by just clicking on MixW's waterfall and using the scroll wheel to move up and down the band. It also puts a call sign in the waterfall after you work a station, or click on the call, which is pretty slick for a visual indication of stations worked on the band.
